500,000 BC -- Grey Master Corlan arrived with the Peregrine fleet to help their fight against the Nazredar. After the war, he slept for hundreds of thousands of years.

3500 BC -- the Celtics that would later be known as Pelorans arrived in the Periphery and settled Pelora.

3300 BC -- The Pelorans began their genetic experiments on less advanced aliens.

3254 BC -- Peloran ships meet the Chelonians and opened friendly dialogue.

2,000 BC -- Grey Master Corlan awakened from sleep and spent time watching them. It soon became noticeable to him that their technology was not nearly advanced as he had once thought. In genetics they had no equal that he knew of, but technologically they were not any more advanced then his own technology. He went back to sleep.

995 BC -- The Pelorans began genetically engineering themselves after learning how to control the psionic genes in the various Bastet derivative races, Tortugans, Sionite, and other aliens they had engineered. Corlan awoke from sleep to watch them as they began to give themselves psionic capabilities. They were weak at first, but as the new psionics had children, the children slowly became more powerful.

700 - 600 BC -- Tortugan Unification Wars raged.

508 BC -- Tortugans entered space.

435 BC -- Tortugans discovered warp points and the Pelorans met them for the official First Contact.

1190 AD -- With time running out for the Pelorans, Corlan did not warn them of the consequence of their tinkering. After so many thousand years of genetic tampering, he was sure that was why they were wiped out. But he did nothing to stop it. The future had to be preserved as long as possible. He left his underground base deep under Pelora's northern pole, and travelled beyond Peloran space. Beyond what was then Known Space to the Pelorans and stayed there while he waited for the race he no longer looked up to with respect to be destroyed.

1200 - 1210 AD -- The Enemy attacked and destroyed the Pelorans and many of their experiments. The Pelorans and their weaker Tortugan allies fought back for a decade, but finally knew they could not win. In the end, attempting to save as many of their experiments as possible, the Pelorans moved deep underground to avoid the anti-matter bombardment they knew would come. They told the Tortugans to fall back to their homeworld and then used their last remaining fleets suck The Enemy in towards Pelora. The Enemy knew where it was and as soon as the Tortugans stopped fighting they seemed to forget about them. They were so close to Pelora...so close to defeating them.

1210 -- Corlan met a fleet of Chelonian survey fleets while returning to Pelora. He spoke with them for several days, not answering their questions of where he was from. He had just sat back as his own people and countless others were killed. He had other things on his mind then speaking with big turtles, but he was glad to meet with them and learned from them. In time he left them and returned home.

1220 -- After several years of poking around, trying to avoid being found by The Enemy, he returned home. He still had no more data on who they were then his people had had in that other universe. All of the carefully hidden scanners he'd planted to target them were destroyed. And even his own base below the north pole was all but shattered when the bombardment had set off a tectonic shift. Like in his own universe, the Pelorans had survived the bombardment deep under ground, but the industrial base he had spent slow centuries setting up was gone. He mothballed his ships and his crews, all that were left of the Pelorans from that other universe, went down to rebuild what they could.

1221 - 2300 -- Corlan augmented the ranks of the Grey Council by recruiting any Pelorans who should have died. Families killed by cave-ins, fires, or other natural or man-made catastrophy were his favorite "recruiting runs." He needed people to work, and he to made sure he wasn't seen. During that time, the "normal" Pelorans fought in a series of underground wars, hardening themselves as a people and their size shrank as they crawled through the tunnels of their world.

1300 -- After a century of waiting for doom to fall on them, the Tortugans finally began reaching out again, re-exploring shattered space to find anything. They found Pelora a dead world and grieved for those who had protected them for so long and had in the end died to save them.

1328 -- The Alkari A'Taran clan broke the back of their major opposition on Onore, the largest continent on Altair. It left them the most powerful clan on Onore, and they continued to expand as time went on.

1423 -- The Alkari F'Laren clan defeated all opposition on Farton, the northern continent of Altair and formed the F'Laren Dynasty.

1580 -- The Grey Council finished rebuilding, in secret from the other Pelorans, an industrial base capable of maintaining space travel.

1600 - 2200 -- The Grey Council explored space, though sparingly. Their resources were minimal, and they maintained secrecy.

1734 -- After defeating all major resistance on islands and smaller continents surrounding Farton, the F'Laren Dynasty moved on Onore. A'Taran forces drove them off.

1741 - 1813 -- The Great Clan War ravaged Onore as the F'Laren and A'Taran clans fought for control of the world. In the end, the F'Larens were victorious.

2087 -- The Alkari Empire, ruled by the F'Laren Dynasty, entered space.

2190 -- A ship the Grey Council thought lost to an antimatter explosion was actually found and taken apart by the Alkari Empire. They quit exploring as the "normal" Pelorans advanced closer to true space travel. They continued rebuilding in secret, knowing that in a century it would be time for them to move.

2200 -- The "normal" Pelorans returned to space, and the Grey Council began quietly pushing them into paths they knew the Peloran race would need to survive. Their technological growth was faster then in Corlan's old universe, but he soon realized that so was the the Alkari's. The Pelorans were split into three major alliances or families. Gwynyth, Cronyl, and Duron. Continually fighting each other, Corlan's people slowly pushed them all into producing the best fighters they could. He knew in another universe things would have been different, but he needed every advantage he could get against the coming threat.

2250 -- The Corlan of this universe made his first breakthrough into the Grey Arts, and soon formed a group of people that, had the future gone differently, would have become the Grey Council.

2297 -- Second Contact with the Tortugans. Admiral Aneerin thought it was First Contact until he realized that the Tortugans remembered his race from before the Great Burn. He quickly secured an alliance with them. One that barely made it through the paranoid White Council of Gwynyth Family, and only because he supported it.

2298 -- Corlan the Eldar met with Corlan the Younger for the first time ever. Though they looked identical in physical form, Old Corlan looked obviously older. His eyes told the tale of thousands of years of life compared to Young Corlan's bare two centuries. Young Corlan agreed to join forces with Old Corlan after he told him of the Alkari threat.

2299 -- First Official Contact with the Bastet. Once again, Admiral Aneerin secured a treaty with them, just as he continued to do with the Telians.

2305 -- First Contact with the Alkari Empire. After over a hundred years of expansion, they were the most powerful race in the Periphery.

2307 -- Gwynyth Family removed Admiral Aneerin from his rank for "embroiling them in alien alliances." Corlan the Younger drafted Aneerin into the Grey Council.

2308 -- The First Alkari War erupted when an Alkari and a Cronyl fleet engaged shots. Nobody knows who fired first. Both fleets were destroyed. Admiral Aneerin strode into the Council of Families in grey robes and informed them that he could rally the alien races together to fight the new enemy. Grasping at straws and not thinking clearly enough to wonder where Aneerin's power came from, the Council agreed. It was the first time that the Grey Council walked openly. Then the Alkari fleets broke through the Peloran Defense Grid and slammed into the system.

2309 -- After a year long fight, the combined Peloran/Tortugan/Bastet warfleets finally pushed the Alkari out of the system. Much salvage captured.

2312 -- After three years of skirmishing with the Alkari, the Grand Alliance hit the Alkari with new and more powerful warships, including the Grand Alliance class ships. More powerful then anything else in their arsenal, they were the spearhead of the assault.

2313 -- The war stalemated as the Alkari Empire reconsolidated its defenses around its last three remaining systems.

2316 -- A massive Grand Alliance fleet battered through the defenses of one system then stood down for repairs.

2317 -- Flaren's Jewel captured by another Grand Alliance assault. The Altair system was all that remained of the once mighty Alkari Empire.

2318 -- A joint assault of three Grand Alliance fleets broke into the Altair system, shattering the Alkari defenses.

2319 -- After a year of fighting, Altair was finally subdued by the Grand Alliance, and the former Alkari Empire split up between the four member races. An admiral from the ancient A'Taran Dynasty led a fleet away and began building a new Alkari Empire.

2330 -- Alliance Station finished its ten year construction in neutral space for races in Reavers Deep to talk to each other and the Pelorans began to look outwards again.

2341 -- Pelorans made Second Contact with the Chelonians. Corlan the Eldar visited them for some time to talk about the past and the present.

2410 -- Cronyl Family and the Alkari Union (those Alkari whom the Grey Council helped rebuild) officially merged to become The Union of Cronyl and Alkari.

2411 -- Second Alkari War threatened Reavers Deep again, as the Imperial Remnant, led by a re-born A'Taran Dynasty, fought to liberate their fallen homeworld from the F'Larens. Tortugans formally joined the Confederation. War lasted 5 years.

2412 -- Trex War waged between the Confederation Tortugans and Duron Family and the Trex Consortium. Ended early in 2413.

2416 -- After the disastrous Silantine-Jumai war, the Grey Council received permission from both sides to build a new station in neutral space between them where they could talk. They named it Cerowain Station, though other races simply called it Crossroads Station. The Great War began as the Ougou struck numerous races. The Tortugans helped a group of Terran mercenaries build a new home called Pryde Rock.

2417 -- The Dorok, friendly with the Grey Council for some time were fractured when the Guild capture Dorok-occupied territory. As their civil war began, the Dorok still had time to glass a Guild world.

2418 -- The Union's Imperial March Alkari grew increasingly angry with their Union conquerers with the escaped Alkari Emperor fanning the flames. Bastet clans long anti-Grand Alliance in beliefs gained power and removed themselves from it.

2419 -- Dorok Civil War spilt over into Grand Alliance space after the Grey Council supported Spartoi against Shuwa. The Guild openly defied the GA after seeing their weakness. The Union's Imperial March rebelled from the Union with the Emperor at their head.

2420 -- Imperial Alkari assaulted Union Alkari and Pelorans, essentially taking them out of the greater war. Sakran assault hit Peloran's Duron Family space. Guild assault shattered the Grey Starway and put Grey Council Pelorans on a major defensive stance. Dorok Civil War continued, while the Tortugans defended themselves from periodic costly Dorok raids.

2421 -- Imperial and Union Alkari and Pelorans became stalemated after an Imperial assault broke through to Altair and destroyed its ship yards. Dorok forces broke through Tortugan defenses and nuked Tortuga Prime with anti-matter fire. Sakran and Guild forces fought to a stalemate with Pelorans and Telians. Gwian, Jumai, Vilani secretly form the Triumvirate.

2422 -- Crossroads (Cerowain) Station assaulted and damaged in the opening round of the war between the Triumverate and the Coalition. The Peloran Grand Alliance class fleet was destroyed to a ship while buying time for a Jumai task force to arrive in system and defend the station.

2443 -- Dorok forces continued to ravage Tortugan space while others, fleeing the death that was the Dorok civil war smashed the Trex Consortium to smitherings. There was simply nothing left of either side to rebuild.

2424 -- After four years of fighting the Guild warfleets broke through to the Telian homeworld and nuked it. Remaining Tortugan fleets shattered by Dorok forces. The Union civil war continued while Pelorans fought Guild and Sakran forces. Alliance Station attacked and badly damaged.

2425 -- The Bastet inter-clan sparing ended as they realized how close the Grand Alliance was to general defeat and their warfleets fanned out of home space to hit the assaulting races in the flanks. The besieged remnants of the Grand Alliance pushed out with them. The Bastet Grand Alliance class warships were destroyed, along with Aneerin's long-time friend Tillan, holding off a Nazredar assault force, but the time they bought was put to good use by the rest of the fleets. They surrounded and attack the single largest concentration of Nazredar ships. The Nazredar force never returned home.

2426 -- After months of fighting, the bolstered Grand Alliance fleets finally pushed through the Sakran periphery and arrived at their homeworld. They refused to surrender, knowing the Peloran's distaste of planetary bombardment and sure that they could win on the ground. When the Peloran fleets prepared to leave the system though, with the Bastet pointedly NOT going anywhere, the Sakran princes had a change of heart and surrendered instantly.

2427 -- Dorok Civil War finally ended. There was simply nothing left to fight with or for. The Dorok empire was dead and would never rise again. A Grand Alliance fleet broke the back of the Guild navy and forced them to agree to peace. Imperial and Union Alkari and Pelorans fought the Tenth Battle of Altair. Both fleets shattered beyond the ability to fight.

2428 -- Grand Alliance fleets shattered the remaining Imperial defenses and for the first time in history an Alkari and a Bastet found common ground. By this time, the Union Alkari, product of the ancient F'Laren Dynasty, hated the Imperial alkari, product of the A'Taran Dynasty, nearly as much as the Bastet. They promised that the Empire would NEVER rise again.

2429 -- The Grand Alliance, with Union support, dismantled the Imperial March's industrial capability. Everything that could be used to make weapons was destroyed or taken. Nothing was left that could be found. What Tortugans still survived after the Dorok assaults had destroyed their empire, moved to Pryde Rock where the humans who once worked for them still lived, having barely survived numerous Sakran assaults.

2430 -- The Union Alkari began systematically shooting every Alkari in the Imperial March. They found and shot the Emperor. The Grey Council protested but the Bastet had no wish to get involved in another Alkari civil war. Especially not to save the side they hated the most. And the Greys simply didn't have the firepower to say anything after the war.

2431 -- New New Altair found and colonized by the new Alkari Emperor, hatchling of the former Emperor.

2433 -- Alliance Station repaired.

2435 -- Crossroads (Cerowain) Station finished and repaired.

2440 -- The Confederation finally collapsed, incapable of governing the shattered remnants of its old dominion. When the remnents of Clan Vir Ko returned home, the Bastet collapsed into civil war.

2444 -- The Confederacy of Races formed by the Grey Council, the surviving Tortugans and humans, and the Sakran Sphere.

2446 -- After much grumping about the whole matter, Duron Family finally agreed to become a part of the Confederacy.

2450 -- Bastet civil war ended. Bastet simply stopped talking to anyone and their space essentially became a giant black hole for ships. Nothing left except the occassional Bastet Trader. And anything that went in that wasn't Bastet or (in rare cases) Osiri, did not leave again.

2457 -- Last known Imperial Alkari hunted down by Union Alkari. Union declares Imperial March pacified.

2460 -- Peloran and Terran researchers cooperating in the Elysium system broke the secret of Grey Master immortality and created the first generation of the prolong process. Able to freeze the growing process of Terrans and Pelorans at the approximate age of 50, it held for another 50 years, allowing for very healthy life spans over a century.

2465 -- Peloran and Tortugan researchers modified the prolong process to work on Tortugans.

2470 -- Construction begun on Mabon Station in the Terran system of New Geneva. It was the third of the Alliance Class Stations.

2475 -- Construction completed on Mabon Station.

2480 -- The Elysium Genetic Institute released the second-generation prolong treatment. Able to freeze the growing process of Terrans, Pelorans, and Tortugans at approximately the age of 28, it could hold that age level for 150 years, easily allowing for life spans over 200 years.

2500 -- The Elysium Genetic Institute released the third-generation prolong treatment. Capable of freezing the aging process at approximately the age 18, it could hold the process for 250 years, allowing for life spans well in excess of three centuries.

2511 -- Aneerin met with Ralen in the first contact between the Confederacy and the Bastet clans in over six decades.

2511 -- Present day. The Union and the Confederacy continue to patiently rebuild their warship fleets, while extolling the power of the Grand Alliance. A Grand Alliance that has not made a single coordinated move in 80 years. And a new Alkari Empire out on the fringes of the sector is ready to move again.
