History

It is 3063 and war has returned to Hsien. The last few years have been chaotic, with three factions trying to stare each other down for control of the planet. Baron Luis Montong V, loyal to the Federated Commonwealth, refused to give in to the Capellan majority on the mainland, while another group of seperatists in Dendeez Province wanted freedom from everyone.

On nearby Hall, the Ridzik brothers arose and attacked the forces of the "Emperor" of that world. By 3060, the Ridzik army held Hall firmly under their control and the New Tikonov Free Republic was proclaimed. In 3061, after building up their forces, they attacked Elgin and subdued it by 3062. Everyone on Hsien knew they were next.

But receiving no help from anyone, each of these factions have spent their time slowly building themselves as much as possible. When the Dark Knight mercenary company arrived on Hsien in January of 3063, fresh from another contract, Montong felt it was time to move. If he could bring Hsien officially back into the Federated Commonwealth before the Ridzik brothers invaded, they wouldn't dare attack. So he moved nearly all of his forces to the mainland and attacked the government forces in February.

A series of fierce engagements left the government forces badly damaged, and on March 7th Montong's forces baited them away from an ancient Star League Castle Brian and captured it. Near the capital, the capture of that base firmly turned the war in Montong's favor. But before he could finish the job, a Republican invasion force arrived. They landed on the 15th and destroyed Montong's forces in a pitched battle. The the remnants of the government forces disappeared overnight, completely outclassed by the invaders and have not been seen again anywhere near the capital.

There are rumors that survivers of the Duke's forces managed to retreat to the Castle Brian and continue to hold out there. There are large numbers of Republican forces surrounding the Castle, making most citizens of the capital believe these rumors. Rumors about the government forces put them everywhere from the poles to Dendeez, fighting along-side the seperatists there against the Republican forces attempting to invade that industrial province. Few believe they would work with the seperatists, but rumors mount that the Republicans are having a hard time of it there.
