Overview:
One of the most widely used recon 'Mechs in the Star League, the Hussar was a quick decision for Pryde Rock to redesign. Unfortunately it became the Fifth 'Mech of the Dirty Dozen because of cost over runs and delays. Original plans had called for her to be released before the King Crab, but when those plans fell through, the King Crab was pushed ahead of schedule and the Hussar was released in October. The reasons for these delays was the turret system that became the heart of this machine.

Capabilites:
Taking ideas from the original design called for by the Star League, Pryde Rock Industries placed a turret atop the center torso to house the new Starslayer-C Particle Cannon replacing the old laser system.

Unfortunately, the extra weight of both systems required replacing the fusion engine with an extra-light engine. This necessitated the redesigning of the 'Mech's torso as well and the addition of a very expensive compact gyro. Finally, the light weight of the new engine allowed the designers to bring total armor protection up to 4 tonnes of Ferro-Fibrous armor. Unfortunately, even that addition leaves the 'Mech highly vulnerable to torso-killing shots.

Deployment
Much more expensive then most of the Pryde Rock Industries' upgrades when compared to the original, and seen as highly risky because of it's light torso armor over the engines, this 'Mech has seen little interest. It is even rarer then the other PRI refits because of this. Hussars have so far appeared only in the Com Guards, the Rasalhague Kungsarme, and are rumured to be fielded by Terra's Pryde.
