Overview:

The pride of the Taurian Concordat Navy, the TCW Vandenberg is considered by most to be the most powerful ship in Taurian service. The Taurians have spent the last four decades bringing it online, achieved in 3065, and upgrading it, an ongoing process that makes it difficult to know exactly what weapons it has at any one time. Last involved in combat over Mendham in 3093, these were the known weapons it displayed at the time.
It is known that the Taurians have heavily reinforced the structure of the ship over the years, significantly upgrading her armor protection even though they were unable to replicate the original armor and had to strip it off in favor of locally produced inferior ferro-aluminum armor. They are also known to have heavily upgraded the stabilization platforms the original autocannons fired from, increasing the caliber and number of naval and standard autocannons, as well as adding impressive extended range missile racks, especially for a design of its size. The Taurians are known to have added a number of anti-fighter weapons and medium naval lasers all over the hull in numbers sufficient to even give WarShips pause, greatly increased the ammunition storage of the capital missile launchers, and expanded the fighter bays to house two full air divisions of fighters.
Oddly, they welded the original grav deck in place and added four large counter-rotating grav decks, two on each end like the Wagon Wheels when they originally brought it online. The added space provided by those decks they devoted to recreation facilities for the crew, in addition to the now-spacious quarters they live in.   The grav deck's spin is brought to a stop when the Vandenberg enters battle or the various asteroid fields that the Taurians use to hide their naval bases to avoid catastrophic damage to the ship.
Serving on the flagship of the Taurian fleet is an honor for any Taurian spacer, and its long cylindrical shape, complete with grav decks fore and aft and stabilizing wings above and to the sides that give it a vaugely aircraftish look, is recognized instantly throughout Taurian space. It has become custom over time for the Vandenberg and her flotilla to personally greet a ship that has performed above and beyond the call of duty when it returns to Taurus, and having her running lights blink towards them in salute is considered by many spacers to be the highlight of their career.
