Overview:

         Possibly the smallest known ship that can transport a DropShip through a jump, the Scorpion is a swift ship that is designed for fast strikes. It's fuel and cargo bays are limited though, meaning that Sorpions need to be attached to supply ships to stay on station for long periods of time. They fight in packs, ganging up on larger ships and ripping them apart with concentrated fire. Like many other small frigates, they can detach their sails before entering atmosphere and landing at standard DropPorts.
         Scorpions often serve as the transportation for Clan Snord or Clan Goliath Scorpion Seekers, flying with their Broadswords.   Some Seekers even own their own Scorpions and it is common to see a Scorpion sitting on a Drop Pad near to a Broadsword, both festooned with Star League artifacts.
         The Scorpion is designed to look like the namesake of the Clan, with its forward spaces shaped like a   Goliath Scorpion head, and the rest of the hull shaped like the body of said creature. Its landing struts are designed to look like legs as well, increasing the effect. Early Scorpions had a decorative tail raised up over the main hull. It served no purpose though other than to make it look like its namesake, and was easily damaged in battle or atmospheric entry. Most Scorpion captains have removed the tail and modern Scorpions are no longer built with it.
