Overview:

         Named after Freya, queen of the Valkyries, this frigate is the standard "bulk transport" of the Rasalhague Dominion. Capable of transporting more than 9,000 tons of cargo, they can quickly move between systems by finding orbital jump points. They are small enough to land on a DropPort as well, and make a practice of leaving their detachable sails in orbit before making the insertion. At the DropPort they can directly unload the cargo bays with ease.
         The Freya has five bays total, two on each side of her fuselage under the Valkyrie-styled wings.   Each of these bays can hold over 2,000 tons of cargo. They often carry BattleMech trinaries or AeroSpace, LAM, or small craft stars with extra fuel bunkerage. The fifth bay, located under the main fuselage where it can be easily unloaded on the ground, is much smaller and usually carries consumables for the ship, though some traders do use it for moving small amounts of expensive cargo.
         Designed to be a troop transport, the military uses Freyas primarily to engage in assault or raiding operations. They can jump into orbit of a planet, perform a fast insertion with fighters and LAMs holding the orbitals, atmosphere, and landing zone, while the BattleMechs drop down from orbit with them. Doing this fills the sky with burning debris, confusing radar systems and rapid response defenders. A Freya is easily capable of hitting a target, reloading her BattleMechs and new cargo, and then launch back into orbit with her LAMs and fighters screening her before defenders can react. These lightning raids are most common against dishonorable foes like the Smoke Jaguars and the Draconis Combine, but are seen elsewhere at times.
         Many traders now use the Freyas to carry bulk cargo, and privately-owned Freyas are becoming a common sight in recent years.
