Overview:

The Bluth Corporation of Little Rock on Terra's North American continent was once the largest producer of HaulerMechs in known space. During the Star League era, they ruled the market with an iron hand, crushing competition like insects. Their undisputed mastery of the HaulerMech market crashed and burned when their own employees turned against them, created a competing LoaderMech, and brought numerous illegal dealings to light in court. Bluth Corporation collapsed in the legal chaos, not to mention the First Succession War, that followed, with only its North American plant surviving under ComStar protection.
Bluth continued to build the cheap Buster, keeping a stranglehold on the Terran HaulerMech market. They pushed out new versions of the venerable HaulerMech, improving on its basic design as the First Succession War faded into the Second, and then the Third. When the Third Succession War finally came to an end, Bluth Corporation was ready to bring the Buster HaulerMech back into the interstellar society.
When the House leaders came to Terra to celebrate the marriage of Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner, brand new Buster Class XXX HaulerMechs unloaded their DropShips with a swiftness and grace unmatched by other HaulerMechs. Bluth actually secured an order for one thousand machines on the opening day of the celebration. Their fortunes were looking up.
Then Hanse Davion gave the buyer to his new bride and Bluth's deal crumbled as effectively as the Capellan Confederation did. The Fourth Succession War brought interstellar trade to a near-halt, and nearly killed Bluth's plans forever. The peace of the 3030s allowed them to find new markets though, until the War of 3039 once again impacted trade. The 3040s were another boom decade, capped of course by the Clan Invasion, the shattering of the Federated Commonwealth, and the capture of Terra by the Word of Blake.
Once again, trade with the outside world effectively ended, and Bluth had to make do with the Terran DropPorts, that were oddly very busy even with foreign trade drastically cut. The Jihad kept them busy for a time, until the Star League armies cut Terra off, and most of the Busters died, upgraded with make-shift weapons and forced to face the invading armies.
After ComStar took over, Bluth Corporation had to help rebuild Terra's supremacy in the shipping business, and of course they began selling the Buster to the nations of the Human Sphere. The brush fire wars that followed have caused business to ebb and flow, but the large amount of rebuilding all across known space has kept their factory humming at a robust level.

Capabilities:

The Buster Class XXX, often called the "Triple X" by its pilots, is a far cry from its older cousins, able to carry more cargo, able to move more smoothly, and able to weather heavier damage from accidental falls or crashes. It can also take some weapons fire, and across the Human Sphere some forces use them to fight, but they are not designed to fight and generally do it badly. Fully-articulated hands allow the Buster to pick up large packages, while hoists on each shoulder can pull crates up to the cargo bays in each torso. While it has a smaller engine than its direct competitors, the Buster has triple strength myomers and so can carry far more tonnage than those lesser machines while maintaining comparable speed. It has also gained a reputation for being easier and cheaper to work on. Finally, large padded feet keep it from damaging the pavement while making it easier to maintain balance and to avoid slips. The Buster is the most famous "name brand" HaulerMech in the Human Sphere, and while the sheer numbers of the "generics" dwarf it, it is still the most recognized single HaulerMech design in existance.

Deployment

Bluth Corporation has an exclusive contract with ComStar, and wherever ComStar has a base, it is a Buster that loads and unloads the cargo that ComStar moves. This gives the company an impressive marketing advantage from the start, as ComStar has facilities almost everywhere, and so they can be seen almost everywhere. A recent contract with the Sea Fox Convoy Bold Venture has brought them an even more high profile, with at least one Buster working with the unloading teams of each ship. Always piloted by the Sea Fox's chief unloader, the Busters have shown themselves off well to the watching throngs waiting for the Sea Fox markets to open up.
