         First used in the pre-space Dark Ages, mobile artillery changed the face of warfare in the Terran World Wars, the Islamic Jihad, and the Soviet Civil Wars. Each of them unveiled more and more capable mobile artillery launchers and when humanity went to space the launchers went with them.
         The standard mobile artillery launcher used in the Human Sphere normally carries a single machine gun for anti-infantry use, and armor just heavy enough to protect it from said infantry or from stray anti-tank rounds. Their main armament is the massive artillery gun that usually mounted on the turret. The units cannot fire while on the move, but it only takes moments for them to come to a stop, rotate to face their targets, and fire a volley or three before moving to another firing position in order to avoid return fire.
         While not as common as crew-served artillery because of its cost, most militias have at least a few of them. Mercenaries and front-line military formations also make heavy use of mobile artillery, considering its self-propelled nature to be far superior to the more stationary guns, or at best towable guns, that are otherwise in use.
